HOPE
Helping Other People Everyday
A Source of Hope in Our Community
Masterpiece founded the nonprofit HOPE (Helping Other People Every Day) with a mission of providing much-needed financial support for those fighting cancer and terminal illness within the Atlantic City community.
Throughout Masterpiece’s more than three decades in business, our commitment to helping those in need, whether it’s those who are battling illness or facing personal crises or supporting various community organizations, has remained unwavering.
However, in 2013, it was time to help one of our own when Masterpiece’s vice president of creative services, Bill McHugh, was courageously fighting late-stage renal cancer.
Our annual holiday party fundraiser played a crucial role in providing HOPE to Bill and his family. A few years later, the same holiday party became a source of HOPE for Mark Patten, our late creative director, when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
A Mission to Make a Difference
Following Mark’s tragic passing in 2019, Masterpiece established the HOPE Foundation to alleviate the financial burdens of individuals and families facing health crises and make their lives a little easier.
HOPE is not about funding research or national organizations. Each and every one of the tens of thousands of dollars we have raised over the years have stayed right here in our community, helping people we know and love.
Spreading Hope Year-Round
While our annual holiday parties continue to raise funds for HOPE through generous sponsors and donations, our mission extends far beyond a single event. It's a year-round commitment to our community, driven by the belief that we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our community members.
HOPE continues to provide crucial aid to those facing the toughest battles of their lives, helping to ensure that they don’t need to fight alone.
Join us in spreading HOPE and making every day a little brighter for our community members in need.
